i recetnly died my hair black i hate it i want it back to my brown natural color i'm thinking of dying it like a light brown will it make a difference

Sorry to tell you but the only way to get black out is too bleach it out. You can't dye a lighter color over black. It will be pointless and damage you hair even more...there will little or no change. Please for the love of god don't try and correct the color yourself with box color. Please go to a salon. Yes it might cost more, but it will be worth it in the end. Your hair will thank you. Give it a few weeks to fade a bit...maybe it will lighten to a shade you can live with.

Wow...good luck I tried that and it took a while to get it back to it's color...but not to say it didn't work cause it did you'll just have to try and see what works for you..

no. you have to get your hair stripped or bleach it to get the black out. black is really tough to get out but i'm sure you already knew that before you dyed it...right?

Be careful going to light of a colour, it might turn red on you. Brown should cover black ok.

no!!! i already tried it, it doesnt do a thing. you'll have to get it professionally bleached. dont do it yourself, or it could ruin your hair. i regret dying my hair black. go to your local salon and talk to them about it, have them do a test strip first. then see what happens. if it turns out great, then yay, if it doesnt then your in the same boat i am in. i have to wait for mine to grow out.

It will show alittle bit. Try to get a number 4, so it will show alittle more. When you dye your hair black, it's hard to get your hair light again . Unless you use color correction.

You'll probably need to get your hair stripped or even bleach it before going back to your natural brown colour. It's alot a work, and a bit of a pain but it's better than ending up with a mess of colour on top of your head!

No chance at all, the only way to get rid of the black is to strip it using a strong bleach - professional use only - you will be stuck with the black otherwise until it grows out sorry. I would recommend putting some blonde/purple streaks through the black using a salon of course. P.S If you try any colour especially red it will go green, honestly, so dont do anything cos you will kill your hair.

Nope. The only way to get rid of black dye is to bleach your hair - and even then, it turns to a really ugly orange color.

No. You will need a pro to strip out the black. Unless it's just non-permanent, in which case, it will wash out in 28 shampoos, and you can hasten it along by washing your hair with Dawn. In fact, even if it's permanent, the Dawn should lighten it some.

you can try to dye your hair again using a light light brown, but that'll only make it a darkish or normal brown. if you want it to be a normal light brown again, then you need to bleach your hair white and then dye it back to light brown. You can't put a lighter color over a darker color. It will only get a bit darker. I've tried it, and it doesn't work. You'll probably have to strip it to the right shade, or strip it lighter than normal and dye it to the desired shade.

You might want to pay a visit to your local Sally Beauty Supply. They can give you instructions on how to go about it, and can sell you the stuff for a very reasonable price.
